The design concept
Palette
- Dusty lilac
- Chalk white
- Silvered sage
- Natural linen
The couple wanted their wedding to feel like an English garden in early summer — soft, generous and a little undone. We kept the palette tight: lilac, white and silvered green, with linen and old glass rather than anything shiny.
The ceremony sat beneath a cedar on the far lawn, with low meadow-style arrangements lining the aisle so the tree did the work. Dinner moved into a marquee with the sides rolled up, so the garden stayed part of the evening.
Logistically, the day hinged on weather planning: a full wet-weather layout was agreed with every supplier, so the decision on the morning took five minutes rather than an hour.
Highlights
- Ceremony beneath a 200-year-old cedar with meadow-style aisle flowers
- Three long tables dressed in lilac linen with hand-lettered place cards
- A full wet-weather plan agreed in advance with every supplier
